Death: The End or The Beginning Of Believing Soul

proud muslim

Find your Islam Images at Jhocy

As Muslims it is time for us to reassess our approach to dying and death. Dying is understood to be a part of living — an important part. Sometimes we may not want to know about the processes that occur after we die because we are afraid or don’t want to think about it. However, this should not be the attitude of a Muslim. — The prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said, “live in this world as though you are a stranger or a traveller (passing through it).” [Muslim]
We as Muslims are on a journey and should know about the whole journey’s itinerary, not just one part, and should also understand some things about the destination. We should be foremost in learning and understanding about death and dying, so we can organize our lives accordingly, as what follows death for us is.
The Prophet said, “When a believer dies, he gets rest from the mercy of Allaah from the toils and harms of this world, but when one of the unbelievers dies, mankind, the trees and animals are relieved.” (Al-Bukhaaree).
However for some reason we are not patient with this, and we fail to recognize this, and we have developed the same fear of death, as the non-Muslims. And if we are careful and think about this, the simple reason is we know we are not preparing well. And for those with poor preperation, i.e. Islam, we know the likelihood is damnation.
The Prophet said, ‘Allah said, “O Adam! Bring out the contingent of the hell-fire!” Adam said, “Who are the contingents of the hell-fire?” Allaah answered, “Of every thousand, nine hundred and ninety nine.”(Al-Bukhaaree) In another version, he says, “Of every hundred, ninety nine.”
Surely it is this recognition that drives this fear? Surely it is looking at our preperation that makes us fear death? If we are yet to start honoring the five daily prayers, surely, the hadith of the messenger of Allah, “The difference between us and them is Salaah. Whoever abandons it has disbelieved.”Is what matures this fear inside?
We are urged to accept the will of Almighty Allah with good grace and patience – but many Muslims when they find out that they are going to die – are quite appalled and indignant – They protest in agony and outrage-

-Dying is normally associated with Suffering –Pain and Trauma. — And it is normal to fear suffering, and react to it with anger and frustration, because we feel oppressed by it and powerless against it. The denial of our own power lies at the root of suffering.
Quite often suffering blocks our faith (IMAN) and some of the many Questions that are asked are “Why Me” “Where is Allah in all of this” Why am I being Punished. — There is this Search for meaning.
And this is driven by us seeing death as a punishment, as maybe we are living our lives slightly different to what we know is beloved to Allah. Hence the hesitation.

"Allah Almighty said: If My servant loves to meet Me, I love to meet him, and if he hates to meet Me, I hate to meet him." (narrated by Bukhari)

Pain & Suffering is most certainly not a curse from Almighty Allah but rather a blessing and a test to see how we will react when challenged and tested.

“A true slave of Almighty Allah when he is afflicted with suffering or pain will turn to HIM and say in Prayer, “We belong to Allah and unto him Is our return” O Allah reward me for my affliction and give something better in exchange for it”

And this is because deep down he knows his affair is with Allah and will be only but good. Ultimately how could it not be, just think about the hadith;

Allah's Apostle said, "No calamity befalls a Muslim but that Allah expiates some of his sins because of it, even though it were the prick he receives from a thorn."

Then think about the mercy of Allah.

With this brothers and sisters, I remind us all, to make preperation for death, and do so by first and foremost, fulfilling the pillars of Islam, and then going to find ways to win the Mercy of Allah, without which no one will enter paradise.

Secondhand Serenade Biography

John Vesely - Guitar / Vocals / Keys

With the heat of summer in full swing, the next stage of Secondhand Serenade’s saga is gearing up for release. Those familiar with the words of John Vesely, the man behind Secondhand Serenade, have lived through his picturesque stories of life’s ups and downs - from the act’s acoustic debut, Awake, to the fuller, and more emotionally complex sounds of 2008’s sophomore A Twist In My Story. Fans have gravitated to John’s heart-on-his sleeve approach and are consistently moved by his tales of life, love and loss that foster universal understanding. Along this journey, A Twist In My Story spawned the platinum-certified top 10 CHR Top 40 hit “Fall For You.” The song also reached No. 21 on the prestigious Billboard Hot 100. With the upcoming August 3rd release of Hear Me Now, Secondhand Serenade’s third studio release for Glassnote Records, he gives a more in-depth look inside a man coming to terms with his shortcomings and moving forward with that understanding.

“I pushed myself harder than I ever have and made a record I am really proud of. The rest belongs to faith and the fans,” Vesely offers. Those fans won’t be disappointed with this 11 track opus. Packed with tales of enlightenment, he carries us through the realization that he has made mistakes along life’s journey and though not perfect, he refuses to beat himself up over those missteps. Vesely instead chooses to take pleasure in the joys, hopes and dreams that he has fulfilled and move forward while embracing all the riches life has to offer.

Stepping up his game, John’s growth as a writer and musician shines throughout his third release. Growth spurts are evident on such tracks as the haunting first single “Something More,” which he co-produced with drummer Tom Breyfogle and is mixed by Mark Endert (Train, Maroon 5). A fuller, richer sound has emerged via bits of electronic pop meshed with the rock sounds and signature powerful and emotive vocals that are this prolific storyteller’s distinctive mark. Working with producer Aaron Johnson (The Fray) on all but the three tracks he self-produced, Vesely has crafted a much more mature record.

“Reflecting and changing, re-examining everything” as he puts it, are common themes that resonate through on such tracks as “Distance,” “Stay Away” and “You & I” or in the heartfelt “Nightmares” and “World Turns,” about confronting one’s demons and asking for forgiveness, while finding and embracing happiness on “So Long.”

Over the past five years, Secondhand Serenade has grown and evolved from the act’s grassroots approach that earned it the coveted No. 1 spot on MySpace’s unsigned artist ranking for months on end. John admits that all artists “hope for people to understand [their art] and appreciate it, and continually be affected by it. I want this to be my career for the rest of my life. I want to be a career artist.” As with all great singer/songwriters, he leaves you yearning for more and waiting for his next step. Secondhand Serenade’s Hear Me Now is calling to be heard.

Inspirational Friendship Story

True friends never leave each other, even if one of them is walking on the wrong path of life. A true friend will try to correct the other in a way that it does not hurt the ego of the other friend. Friends don't mind when mistakes are pointed out; rather they try to accept it and change themselves for the better. True friends are those, who inspire others to become a better person in life. A number of inspirational stories are written, based on the theme of true friendship. They tend to inspire the reader. In this article, we have given a motivational story, based on friends.

Motivational Story Of Friendship

Two girls were best of friends, since their childhood. When they were small kids, they used to go to school together, play together and sometimes even stay at each other's places. They were next door neighbors and thus their parents were friends as well. The best friends graduated from school and went to pursue higher studies in the same college. Everyone knew that the girls were the best of friends. Nothing was hidden between the duo, because both knew each other inside out.

After some days, one of the friends found the other behaving in a very strange manner. She would remain withdrawn, sleep too much and turn violent, very often. At first, the other friend thought it was just the studies getting on to her. However, with time, she became even more moody and frustrated. Finally, her friend couldn't take it any longer and confronted her with the problem. She broke down into tears and confessed that she was going around with a guy, who was taking drugs and forced her to take them too.

The girl was not only forced to take drugs, but was also forced to bring money every now and then and was threatened with dire consequences, if she revealed the matter to anyone, even her best friend. Shocked by her story, the other friend consoled her. She then thought of a way to help her. Finally, she thought that she would come up straight to the point and tell her to leave this guy and get out of all the mess. She contacted the college counselor, who was a psychologist and narrated all the problem to her. She offered to help and said that matter would be kept under wraps.

The girl was then advised by her friend to leave this guy, as he was torturing her unnecessarily. Her friend reminded her of her dreams of becoming a successful professional, inspired her to set an example for others and reminded of what her parents would feel, if they found out what their daughter was up to. After a lot of persuasion, the girl finally agreed to leave him. She was given basic counseling and was weaned off drugs, with time. All this while, her friend never left her side and always stood by her.

Finally, they graduated and the friendship only grew stronger. They both went on to become successful professionals, but never let each other down by indulging themselves into bad habits. They lived happily ever after, as close friends. The story leaves the reader to think about the depth of friendship shared by the two girls. The moral of the story is that true friends are those, who inspire you to become the best you can ever be. They have full confidence in you. They would not leave you until your goal is accomplished.

There is a friendship story beetwen a pencil and an eraser.

Maybe it can reflect about our relation with our bestfriend. :)

Pencil : You know, I’m really sorry.
Eraser: For what? You didn’t do anything wrong.
I’m sorry, ’cause you get hurt because of me. Whenever I make a mistake, you’re always there to erase it. But as you make my mistake vanish, you lose a part of yourself. You get smaller and smaller every time.
That’s true, but I don’t really mind. You see, I was made to do this. I was made to help you whenever you do something wrong. Even though, one of these days, I know I’ll be gone and you have to replace me with a new one, I’m actually happy with my job. So please, stop worrying. I hate seeing you sad.
that’s what friends are for ^^

M2M "The Day You Went Away"

Well I wonder,
Could it be?
When I was dreaming 'bout you baby
You were dreaming of me
Call me crazy,

Call me blind,
To still be suffering is stupid after all of this time

Did I lose my love to someone better
And does she love you like I do, I do
You know I really really do

Well hey... so much I need to say
Been lonely since the day
The day you went away
So sad but true
For lonely since the day
The day you went away.
Go On, Yay... Oh...

I remember - date and time
September 22nd Sunday twenty-five after nine
In the doorway
With your case
No longer shouting at each other
There were tears on our faces

And we were letting go of something special
Something we'll never have again, I know
I guess I really really know

Well hey, so much i need to say
Been lonely since the day
The day you went away
So sad but true, for me there's only you
Been crying since the day
The day you went away
(The Day you went away)
The Day you went away
Go on, Yay...

Oh oh oh
Did I lose my love to someone better
And does she love you like I do, I do
You know i really really do

Well hey, so much I need to say
Been lonely since the day
The day you went away
So sad but true, for me there's only you
Been crying since the day
The day you went away

Why do we never know what we've got till it's gone
How could I carry on
The day you went away

Cause I've been missing you so much I have to say
Been crying since the day
The day you went away
The day you went away
The Day you went away...
Go on, Yay... Oh...
